Open to Teachers, School Leaders, Youth Workers and Professionals Supporting Young People
The Certified Functional Fluency Teacher Programme (CFFT) is a comprehensive professional development pathway designed for educators and professionals working with young people who want to strengthen their relational effectiveness, emotional resilience, and leadership presence using the Functional Fluency model.
This integrated programme combines three existing Functional Fluency International learning experiences (and two new offerings) into one cohesive certification pathway. Participants develop practical behavioural awareness, improve classroom and relational dynamics, and gain psychologically informed tools for navigating the growing complexity of modern educational environments.
Training Elements & Structure
The Certified Functional Fluency Teacher Programme consists of five integrated learning elements. You can either sign up for each element separately or for the whole programme:

TIFF© Feedback Session
Participants complete the Temple Index of Functional Fluency (TIFF©) questionnaire, followed by a one-to-one feedback session with a trained TIFF Provider.
Focus Areas: Behavioural patterns and relational habits, Emotional energy use and “Accounting”, Stress responses and resilience, Leadership and communication effectiveness, Personal development roadmap
Outcome:
Participants gain increased self-awareness and a practical understanding of how their behaviour impacts classroom culture, relationships, and professional wellbeing.

- Introduction to Functional Fluency – next date 19 October 2026
Trainer: Liz Jackson
This foundational course introduces participants to the Functional Fluency model and its practical application within educational and youth-focused environments.
Participants Explore: The Functional Fluency model, effective and ineffective behavioural modes, structuring and nurturing leadership, cooperative communication, emotional regulation, present-centred awareness, as well as relational effectiveness in schools and youth settings
Outcome:
Participants develop a shared behavioural language that improves communication, leadership, and relational safety.

- Get on the Mat (GOTM©) Session – next date 16 June 2026
Trainer(s): Kamla de Haas or John Fleming
This experiential learning session enables participants to physically and emotionally explore behavioural dynamics using the Functional Fluency model in action.
Focus Areas: Embodied behavioural awareness, relational dynamics under pressure, emotional positioning and response patterns, experiential reflection and insight, systemic understanding of classroom and organisational interactions
Outcome:
Participants gain deeper awareness of how they “show up” relationally and how to consciously shift toward more effective behaviours.

This practical workshop supports educators in applying Functional Fluency directly within classroom practice and wider educational settings.
Participants Explore: Functional Fluency lesson outlines, behaviourally informed classroom practice, emotional regulation strategies, psychological safety in learning environments, structuring and nurturing approaches to behaviour, cross-curricular implementation opportunities
Outcome:
Participants leave with practical strategies and adaptable resources that can immediately improve classroom culture and learner engagement.

- Learning to Question Course - next date 11 September 2026
Developed by Steve Willshaw and Chdel Cooke
This course develops reflective dialogue, critical thinking, and emotionally safe questioning practices for educational settings.
Participants Explore: Constructive questioning techniques, reflective dialogue, critical thinking and media literacy, managing difficult conversations safely, supporting young people to evaluate information critically, creating psychologically safe inquiry spaces
Outcome:
Participants gain practical tools to help young people navigate complexity, misinformation, emotional overwhelm, and social pressures more effectively.
