Our (Hi)story

“Do I and others benefit?”

                   “You have a choice.”

                                       “Respond more, react less.”

                                                                  “From surviving to thriving…”

These are all quotes from Dr. Susannah Temple, the originator of the Functional Fluency Model and TIFF©, the self-development tool.

Susannah’s doctoral research won a European Association of Transactional Analysis silver medal in 2003. Since then she has built up the TIFF© Network, devised systems for training TIFF© Providers and managing the Network, and in 2005, created TIFF© Online with Gary Prosser.

Susannah initially trained TIFF© Providers in Germany and the Netherlands and supported them in establishing their own national networks. She is also one of the founding directors of The Fluent Self Community Interest Company (CIC), set up in 2009 to provide a stable legal structure for ongoing growth of the Functional Fluency Network worldwide.

Functional Fluency International was then formed in 2020 to further develop the work of The Fluent Self CIC and to meet the current and future needs in people development around the world. Functional Fluency International signifies the beginning of a new era for the Functional Fluency Network, with a new generation of people to take Functional Fluency into the future, with Susannah’s blessing and support.

Your Personal TIFF Experience

A great way to start getting to know Functional Fluency is through your own personal "TIFF Experience". This process really puts the "personal" back into "personal development".

You can choose a licenced TIFF provider, who you feel you can connect with. This person will provide you with a link to fill in a TIFF questionnaire online in your own time. The result of this will be a snapshot of your patterns of social behaviour. In a collaborative one-on-one feeback session, your TIFF provider will support you in making sense of your behavioural profile and provide guidance for how to use this information.

Try it out and, if you like, let us know what happens next!
