Simphiwe Mahlanyana

I am Simphiwe Mahlanyana aka ‘Sim’ and I was born and bred at Cape Town’s first Township – Kwa-Langa, in South Africa. I am in my early 30's and excited about what life brings on a daily basis. Professionally I am an Administration, Training and Development freelancer and Singer. If I am not sitting at a desk administrating for companies; I am teaching Xhosa (one of South Africa's official languages); coordinating sport interventions; lecturing personal development to underprivileged youth; or writing music, if I'm not on stage singing my lungs out. I am passionate about behavioural change, challenging the status quo, creating new experiences and empowering the youth, simply because growing up there was not much stimulation except for going to school and having a 'choice' to do sport on weekends. I became a licensed TIFF© Provider in September 2019 and consequently started being back-end support to Functional Fluency International, supporting the organisation with administration, marketing, website and anything related to TIFF providers. I am amazed by how much I use both Functional Fluency and TIFF© to navigate (and reflect on) new experiences of my personal and professional life.
