1. Is the new agreement more restrictive than the previous one?
No. The substance of the agreement remains the same.
What has changed is clarity. The updated version makes existing expectations more explicit so that they are transparent and consistent for everyone.
2. Does my right to use TIFF© change?
No.
Your licence to use TIFF in support of your clients’ personal and professional development remains exactly as before, within the agreements you make with them.
3. Is membership of the FFI network still linked to the licence?
Yes.
Being a TIFF Provider means being a member of the Functional Fluency International network. If membership ends, the licence ends automatically.
4. Why is active use of TIFF© stated more explicitly?
TIFF Providers are expected to remain skilled and competent in working with TIFF.
Regular practice helps you stay sharp, bring real cases into supervision, and exchange meaningful insights with fellow Providers. This shared engagement strengthens both individual professionalism and the collective quality of the network.
5. What happens if I conduct fewer than three TIFF sessions in a year?
Providers are expected to carry out at least three TIFF feedback sessions each year. This supports continued experience and professional competence.
If this has not been possible in a particular year, we will contact you in good time. In principle, membership may be discontinued at the end of the membership year. At the same time, we recognise that circumstances can temporarily affect activity levels.
In such situations, we will always begin with a conversation. Together, we will explore what is happening and consider what solution is appropriate, guided by care, professionalism, and our shared commitment to quality and connection within the network.
6. What has changed regarding TIFF© credits?
It is now explicitly stated that TIFF credits are personal and may not be transferred to another Provider without prior approval from FFI.
This clarification supports transparency and quality assurance.
7. Have there been any changes regarding supervision?
No.
The expectation remains that supervision takes place within three months of starting and continues annually thereafter. Supervision remains an essential part of professional development and quality safeguarding.
8. Have there been any changes regarding intellectual property or confidentiality? What is included?
No changes have been made in this area. All intellectual property directly connected to TIFF remains the property of Functional Fluency International. Careful and confidential handling of materials and client information continues to be a strict requirement.
To clarify:
What may be used freely
- The Functional Fluency model itself, including the three categories, five elements and nine behavioural modes, is in the public domain.
- You may use the model in your work, presentations and explanations.
- When using the model in combination with TIFF, we ask that you apply the gold and purple colours that belong to the original design.
What is protected intellectual property of TIFF©
The following elements are protected and may not be copied, adapted or distributed independently:
- The TIFF questionnaire and the exact wording of the questions
- The scoring and measurement structure
- TIFF profiles and visualisations
- Official TIFF reports
- TIFF Provider licence and training materials
- The TIFF online platform and software
What remains yours as a professional
- Your own reflections, observations and insights
- Self developed methods or exercises, provided they are not based on protected TIFF materials
- Case examples and learning experiences shared in supervision or with fellow Providers, provided these are anonymised and do not include protected materials
If you have ideas for new applications or further development, we warmly invite you to share them with us. Co creation is welcome. Alignment remains essential.
9. Why was this update necessary?
The network is growing and becoming increasingly international. Clear and explicit agreements help safeguard quality, integrity and collaboration in a sustainable way.
10. What does this mean for me as a Provider?
For most Providers, very little changes in daily practice.
The updated agreement largely confirms what you are already doing and makes clearer what we stand for together.
